I wanted to paint a portrait of one of my kids but I spent so much time on the eye that I hit a wall when it came to doing the rest of his face.

Painted with Wacom Intuos4 Wireless and My Paint.

Well, this sure is a great eye... none the less, you should go on...

Although this could also be a nice peak-through-a-hole-in-the-wall thing, with a bit of additional work

Yeah, can't get past the mental block I hit when I finished the eye. lol. Maybe I should make it into a hole in the wall.

depending on how the wall looks or what you can potentially see behind it, you could greatly control the mood and go into several really awesome directions.
For instance, everything behind the wall (from the kid's point of view) could be really dull and dark, making that eye a lonely single happy curious spot of hope.
Or it all looks cheery and happy, turning the attention a little bit away from the eye...
You could make it into a christmas scene, where the child spys for games or such. A bit cliché but it can turn out great, too...
